  2. Top casino innovations of 2020. That’s the motto in the novelty-hungry online gaming industry. So you can be sure that 2020 will see more new casinos, more new games, more new features and even more change, as sites build on the innovations of 2020.
  3. Online casinos almost always exclude certain games from bonus wagering. This is particularly the case with no deposit credits which are usually only to be used on slots. The only exception would be when the casino specifically excludes certain slots from the bonus (usually slots with a low house edge). In some cases, you can also play scratchies.

The resumption of business for land-based casinos appears to have no negative effect on mobile casinos in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Both states realized record-setting monthly revenue figures in August 2020, as the popularity of legal online gambling continues to gain.

Annual revenue crossed the half-billion mark for the year in New Jersey, while Pennsylvania’s online casino market appears to have hit its stride just over a year after launch. New Jersey and Pennsylvania combined stand at over $861 million in online casino revenue in 2020.

That figure could go over the $1 billion milestone when September’s revenue figures post, as the upward trend for legal online gambling in the US shows no signs of slowing down.

Another All-Time High For NJ Online Casinos

Monthly revenue for New Jersey’s online casinos broke records for the second straight month. The five months from April through August 2020 now stand as the top five revenue-earning months in the history of New Jersey’s legal online casino industry.

August 2020 revenue sits atop that list, with mobile casinos bringing in $84,737,965. That figure represents a 2.5% increase over July, which held the previous record at just over $82.67 million.

Land-based casinos in Atlantic City reopened July 2. That hasn’t stopped state-regulated online casinos from posting back-to-back record monthly revenue figures, as mobile gaming continues to realize unprecedented success.

Borgata posted the biggest gains of any online casino operator in August, with skins under its license realizing a 31.7% gain in month-over-month revenue. The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement revenue numbers for August can be viewed here.

PA Joins NJ With Record-High August Revenue

Much like New Jersey, online casino revenue doesn’t seem to be affected by land-based counterparts going back in business. Pennsylvania online casinos posted $53,213,325 in August revenue, breaking the previous record-high mark of $51.3 million set in July.

Rivers Casino continues its reign as the top online casino operator in the state, with its PlaySugarHouse and BetRivers brands powering a yearly revenue total that will likely go over the $100 million mark in September.

Penn National Gaming’s DraftKings Casino skin continues to move up the ranks of Pennsylvania’s online casinos, enjoying a new high of $6,560,733 in August revenue. FanDuel Casino ($8,710,564) and Parx Casino ($7,450,881) kept their respective operators in the second and third spots in the August revenue race, as the Pennsylvania market remains competitive.
