  • »Koon, Smith and Vousden Scoop $500K Prizes at PartyPoker

The inaugural Poker Masters Online series at partypoker is nearing its conclusion and the bringing out the big guns. A trio of $25,500 buy-in events recently crowned their champions and they each took home more than $500,000.

partypoker Poker Masters #16: $1M Gtd NLHE 8-Max

Team partypoker member Jason Koon won the first $25,500 buy-in event for a cool $549,000. Koon overcame one of the toughest final tables on record to secure victory.

Dan Smith was the first of the eight finalists to bust. Smith collected $81,000 for his efforts. Koon’s fellow partypoker team mate Joni Jouhkimainen then fell in seventh for $85,500. Dario Sammartino, the 2019 WSOP Main Event runner-up, ran out of steam in sixth place. The Austria-based Italian won $99,000, which was the last prize not to be worth six-figures.

Juan Pardo left Spain to live in the United Kingdom so he could continue his online poker career. His $126,000 score here vindicated that decision. Conor Beresford joined Pardo on the rail in fourth-place, a finish worth $162,000.

Stephen O’Dwyer saw his tournament come to an abrupt end in third-place. The high stakes specialist turned his $25,500 into a colossal $252,000.

Heads-up pitted Koon (lead image) against Justin Bonomo. $180,000 was the difference between first and second-place, yet no deal was struck! This meant Bonomo collected $369,000 for his runner-up finish, leaving Koon to scoop $549,000.

Only Four More Poker Masters Events Remain

Only four Poker Masters events remain on the schedule and they are massive. Another $25,500 event takes place at partypoker today. It is a $1 million guaranteed NLHE 8-Max tournament. A $10,300 NLHE 6-Max event also runs, this one with a $10,300 buy-in.

April 26 sees the curtain come down on the festival. A $10,300 NLHE 6-Max event complements the huge Main Event. The Main Event has $2 million guaranteed, but costs a wallet-worrying $51,000 to enter!
